Subluxation Subluxations are fixations, malfunctions, or structural misalignments of the vertebrae or joints that result in an alteration of the normal mechanical and neurological functions of the body. Adjustment An adjustment is the procedure used by chiropractors to eliminate or reduce a subluxation. The release of a subluxation may or may not be accompanied by an audible sound. This sound is a result of joint separation accompanied by the release of a negative pressure zone produced by the joint surfaces of fixated or malfunctioning vertebrae or joints.
